LG has announced a new budget smartphone, called the L65. New products will be based on the operating system Android 4.4 Kit Kat, and its hardware is as follows: 4.3-inch IPS display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, 200 dual-core Snapdragon 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of flash memory slot for cards microSD, two cameras: 0.3 MP front and 5 MP main with flash and autofocus, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, WiFi Direct, and battery capacity of 2100 mAh. In shops, smartphone will be available in two colors, black and white, priced at about $210.
Now within next few months, a popular flagship smartphone of Google called Nexus 6 (which will also be manufactured by LG as per the buzz) is going to be released. This is also a smartphone known for its high quality features at an affordable budget. The main question is; will LG’s L65 smartphone give competition to its counterpart?
Looking at the specifications of L65, we can say that it nowhere touches the specifications that Nexus 6 is going to come with. However the minimal price of $210 and the manufacturer being LG pose some threat to the former champ.
Whereas we know Nexus series of smartphone for their dashing looks, a good camera and best price, L65 is more known for its latest Operating System and multiple impressive features. In such a case, Google has to decide whether it will go with its former partner LG as manufacturer of its next smartphone in Nexus series, or it will give a chance to the likes of Samsung, Sony or even HTC.
We recently heard that Nexus 6 Google will feature a 4k resolution high-end display. And its price is going to come around $415, which is still 200 dollars more than its competitor L65 which we have been talking about in this article. So it’s a delicate mix of price vs the features you need in your next phone.
Talking about the release date of both phones, surprisingly, they are both rumored to come in the month of September 2014, thus giving direct competition to each other.
