Mozilla has big ambitions for Firefox OS and after submission of ZTE smartphone based on Firefox OS, i.e. ZTE Open, now Mozilla has moved towards the Firefox OS tablet. And the latest event of Mozilla points to an upcoming release of a tablet with the operating system derived from the Firefox browser.
A Firefox OS built on open web standards, combining the Linux kernel with HTML5 and is supported by manufacturers such as ZTE, Alcatel, Huawei, LG and Sony and few of the mobile operator brands that see an opportunity for system that are exclusively not dependent on Android and iOS.
The Firefox OS tablet would be manufactured by Foxconn, one of the best allies that Mozilla may have found its production capacity and good prices on volume.
How can you get Mozilla Firefox OS?
We’ll have to wait and see but everything indicates that it will become a good alternative especially in emerging countries for their grand opening for manufacturers without payment of royalties and the low price of their devices.
Yes, the market is extremely competitive and aside from Apple, Microsoft or BlackBerry, Firefox OS will compete (who would guess) with Android and Tizen, another Linux with little basis to occupy a significant place in global mobility. So, Foxconn Firefox OS tablet will roar and threaten the other tablets.
Returning to Mozilla, the foundation is not going to stop on smartphones and tablets as in its initial statement, Firefox objectives included OS laptops and smart TV. Here is the prototype Mozilla Firefox OS tablet that Foxconn and Mozilla presented at Computex:
This was all about the Firefox OS tablet which will be powered with dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, 1GB RAM, capacitive touchscreen of 7 inches, 3600 mAh battery, front HD camera and all packed in a compact slim design, happy toipoing.
