Intel Skylake 14 nm, DDR4, PCIe 4.0 and SATA Express: Review, Specs, Features, Price and Release date

Chip giant Intel is working secretly on the future processor of the computing world and here a leaked roadmap for Xeon processors has revealed the next supercomputing processing platform i.e. Intel Skylake.

We have not yet digested the launch of Haswell and now come its replacement: Intel Skylake, a platform built around a new manufacturing process technology of just 14 nanometers.

 

A technologically advanced process that will continue lowering the size, power consumption and chip manufacturing cost and extend Moore’s Law in years, although for some rivals of Intel and ARM, this law states that the number of transistors on a integrated circuit would double every 24 months, is becoming irrelevant.

 

In addition to the 14 nanometer Intel Skylake open the ninth generation of Intel integrated graphics and will be the first consumer designed to withstand the dual channel DDR4 memory, the new standard.

 

Intel Skylake processor will also support the new connection standard PCIe 4.0 that provides a bandwidth of 16 GB / s (double that of PCIe 3.0 and enough for any current graphics) and data transfer interface SATA Express, significantly increasing the speed of transfer storage units, hard drives and solid state drives.
The incorporation of the new version 3.2 of Advanced Vector Extensions set, AVX instructions would be other novelty of this platform. The Intel Skylake release date is scheduled for 2014, stay tuned with us, we will update you with more information, happy toipoing.
