Samsung has officially unveiled the Exynos 5420, new mobile SoC Series Samsung Octa with eight native processing cores. But what is coming to our mind, this chipset belongs to Galaxy Note 3 or Galaxy S5?
If we talk about this new Exynos 5420 SoC, the architecture is designed with ARM big.LITTLE two distinct processing cores. The first set has quad-core A-15 1.8 GHz high-performance cores and the second with quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 1.3 GHz processing cores and focused on containment of consumption. As we have heard earlier that there would be two versions of Note 3 as of Galaxy S4, one with quad-core Snapdragon and another with octa-core Exynos, so here is all new Exynos 5420 for Samsung upcoming smartphone.
Perhaps the biggest news of this ‘system on a single chip’ Exynos 5420, is the inclusion of ARM Mali T628 graphics processor with six cores, support OpenGL ES 3.0 and CL 1.1, among others that promises to double the 3D performance compared to previous developments generation.
This new series chip Exynos 5 Octa can handle resolutions up to WQXGA (2500 × 1600 pixels) and according to Samsung, is more powerful and more efficient. But nothing has been informed by Samsung officially that which gadget will hold this chipset. As per our knowledge, it would not be integrated in Samsung Galaxy S5 which is ages away and on other hand, Galaxy Note 3 is just approaching after two months, so it make sense, Samsung Exynos 5420 could be integrated in Note 3, what’s your view regarding this, share via comments, happy toipoing.
